Editing a family session

As a family and maternity photographer, I often get asked why my services are priced the way they are. While there are many factors that go into determining the cost of a photo session, one significant reason for me is the amount of time I spend retouching each photo.

Take, for example, this photo. At first glance, you might notice the distracting objects in the background that need to be removed. But there's more to it than that. Look at how the dress crumples up in the original photo. To achieve the beautiful flowing dress in the final image, I need to combine several photos, carefully selecting and blending each element to create a seamless and stunning result.

Creating the best photos from the family session

The retouching process can take hours, but the result is worth it. I want each photo to be a work of art, capturing the beauty and emotion of each moment. I take pride in providing my clients with images that they will treasure for a lifetime.

Of course, retouching is just one part of the process. Before the session, I work with my clients to choose the perfect location, outfits, and props to create a cohesive and beautiful look. During the session, I focus on capturing genuine and authentic moments, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere for everyone involved.

So while there are many factors that contribute to the cost of a family or maternity photo session, the amount of time and care I put into each photo is a significant part of it. I believe that my clients deserve nothing but the best, and I strive to deliver that with each and every image.
